Antonio Caravaca, PhD
Chief Executive Officer
Antonio is a leading innovator in multimode-fiber endoscopy. During his doctoral research, he helped lead the early development of imaging through multimode fibers and contributed to the first demonstrations of in-vivo neuronal imaging and optogenetics using the technology.
Today, he leads Modendo’s work to translate ultrathin-fiber imaging into practical solutions across semiconductor inspection, neuroscience, and medicine.
Omer Tzang, PhD
Chief Technology Officer
Omer is an optical scientist with experience spanning industry and academia. His work includes biomedical imaging, optical communications, super-resolution microscopy, and the control of light through complex and scattering media.
At Modendo, he leads the development of the company’s optical systems, computational imaging capabilities, and application-specific technology.

Rafael Piestun, PhD
Founder and President
Rafael is an internationally recognized leader in computational optical imaging and the inventor of Double Helix technology for three-dimensional super-resolution microscopy.
His research group led pioneering work in wavefront shaping and helped demonstrate the first in-vivo multimode-fiber microendoscope.
Christophe Moser, PhD
Founder
Christophe is a professor of microengineering and industrial relations at EPFL, an experienced technology entrepreneur, and a prolific inventor.
His work spans photonics, imaging, and the translation of advanced optical research into successful commercial technologies.
Demetri Psaltis, PhD
Founder
Demetri is a professor of optics at EPFL and a widely recognized researcher in imaging, holography, biophotonics, machine learning, and nonlinear optics.
His scientific contributions and leadership have helped shape multiple areas of modern optical engineering.

Christian is a head-and-neck surgeon and specialist in oncology, reconstructive surgery, and otolaryngology. His experience helps inform the clinical questions and practical realities surrounding future medical applications.
